Panchachuli group from Munsari

There are lovely walks and day treks in and around Abbott Mount. It is a bird watchers paradise with a huge variety of Himalayan birds in the trees around the house.

In the summer the garden is alive with the gossamer hues of large variety of butterflies.

From March to the beginning of the Monsoons, some of the best Mahaseer fishing in India is to be found in the Kali River at Pancheshwar and Rameshwar.

The Lohaghat Bazaar is 6 kilometers away and an easy walk. The bazaar with its old silver smiths, local handicrafts and eating places is worth exploring

Day Trips
 



One can take day trips to the adjoining towns like Champawat famous for its old temple. Pithoragarh for its quaint bazaar with local handicrafts like Bamboo mats, baskets, wool, pashmina shawls, blankets and carpets. The Mayawati Ashram that was to be Swami Vivekananda's retirement home.

Slightly longer trips will take you to the underground caves at Patal Bubeneshwar, Munsiari, Jageshwari, Chakhori and Bageshwar.
